What are these extra stitches in my design

You might notice what look like stray threads in your converted design when displayed in the Stitch Player.  These are called jump stitches.  A jump stitch is a thread that connects one embroidered section to another within a single design.  It typically occurs when designs contains elements of the same thread color, but are not visually connected.  The machine will “jump” from one area to another, leaving a single thread between the design elements.  Minor jump stitches are common in traditional embroidery and typically do not affect the overall look of the design. Certain jump stitches are unavoidable and will remain in the embroidered product. Larger jump stitches will be manually removed by a trained embroidery operator whenever possible
